Bro. Micah Carter was born in Little Rock, AR on August 17, 1984 to Dr. Barry and Valerie Carter. He spent his childhood days in Alexander, AR, Dumas, AR and Minden, LA. Bro. Micah trusted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 7. He was baptized by the authority of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas, AR. He announced his call to preach at the age of 15 at Bogg Springs Youth Encampment. Bro. Micah was licensed to preach in June of 2000 by Whispering Pines Missionary Baptist Church at Minden, LA. Bro. Micah graduated high school from Minden High School in 2002. He was ordained into the gospel ministry by Whispering Pines MBC March 26, 2004, and enrolled into seminary at the Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary that Fall. He earned his Bachelor of Theology Degree in May 2008. Bro. Micah went on to earn his Master of Theology Degree in May 2009. He is currently pursuing the degree, Doctor of Theology, from LMBIS.
On November 19, 2005, Bro. Micah married his wife, Julie Walker Carter. The Lord has blessed their home since that day with two children. Their son, Walker Benjamin Carter, was born on July 8, 2007. Their daughter, Tatum Grace Carter, was born on December 8, 2008. Bro. Micah understands, undeniably, that a godly wife is a strong pillar to a man’s ministry, and thanks God for Julie. He and Julie rejoiced even more in November of 2015 when both Walker and Tatum were born again and received Jesus as their personal Savior!
God has blessed Bro. Micah with the privilege to work in the positions of youth pastor and pastor. He served as youth and associate pastor for Eastside Baptist Church at Minden, LA from 2004-2006. God then moved him and Julie to Hamburg, AR where Bro. Micah served as pastor at Calvary Baptist Church from 2006-2008. Currently, he serves as the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church at Magnolia, AR. Bro. Micah, Julie, Walker, and Tatum have been in Magnolia since 2008.
Bro. Micah has had the privilege to serve in various Local and State Associational positions. It was his honor to serve on the AR State Missionary Committee. Also, he served as the moderator for the 1st Columbia Association for 6 years. Bro. Micah counts it all joy to serve the Lord and His people.
